I feel really happy, Jie and I are planning to ROM end of this year.
We foresee the issue of this-is-not-just-involving-the-2-of-us, we argued and quarreled a few times.
Bad communications, misunderstandings, assumptions..
But well, we have to be mentally be prepared that it's not going to be easy.
Initially, it was just a mere mentioning of 'most probably this year end' to visiting bridal fair and we actually took up a package! I was quite happy that we didn't sign one on impulse. We went on the 1st and 3rd day of the fair and decided on it after getting references from 1st day and doing some 'homework' at home.
We signed a package from MyDreamWedding, it was slightly over our budget but I negotiated for most of what I wanted. And most importantly, I love their photos! I have really high expectations when it comes to the quality of the photos taken more than the gowns that they have. But of cos, MyDreamWedding is relatively huge and popular in Singapore, they have like 4000 over of wedding gowns..So it should not post as a problem to me..I hope x.x
The next thing was to check out on venues..we have a few options:
1. Amara hotel
2. Amara Sanctuary Glass pavilion
3. Fort Canning Glass house
4. 1827 @ Arts house
5. Island Suite at Keppel Island
6. 1-altitude (One Rochester)
7. Essential Brew - closed down
8. Glass house at Labrador Park - closed down
So far we have enquired options 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6..we met up with the sales coordinator of 3 and 6..The rest were over our budget especially my favourite Amara Sanctuary Glass Pavillion.
After much consideration, we have decided to go with Fort Canning. Booking has not been confirmed yet cos we're facing a major problem, i.e. the date.
We wanted 9 Oct 2011, apparently his mum said 20 Nov 2011 would be better. But Jie's master said 12 Nov 2011 is better. Sigh...who should we listen to?
We are not the superstitious type of people but since we have asked, we probably should follow isn't it?
This is the reason why marriage doesn't just involve 2 person..It involves 2 families in fact.
It's just a Solemnization and yet we're starting to feel the tension.
I seriously hope I can get the date and venue that we both want cos ultimately it is still the both of us who are getting married..
